NORM – SOCAL Meeting Notes – May 17, 2009

Our coordinator started off by asking everyone if they'd received the monthly email notice about this month's meeting. Although our meetings are always on the third Sunday of every month, from 2 - 4 in the afternoon, some of us can always use a reminder. To get on our list to receive notices of our monthly meetings, send an email to coordinator@norm-socal.org. As always, if you're going to be in the Los Angeles area on the third Sunday of the month, and are interested in discussing foreskin restoration, we invite you to attend.

The group got into a discussion over concerns about the logic, or lack of it, in arguments we see made in the media and elsewhere to promote circumcision. Most, if not all, of us who have bothered to take a critical look at these arguments have seen flaws, and just don't understand how they persist.

A question was raised about how long and how often people should be tugging. There's been growing agreement among the restoration community that stretching the skin for brief periods - with manual tugging, for example - should be done with higher tension than stretching for prolonged periods with a device. In either case, take care in what you're doing to your penis!
